Today I sat all alone by the beach,

And peered through the swaying trees.

I stared at the ships which were out of my reach,

As they sailed on the tranquil seas.

I once dreamt I'd be on a ship far away,

Sailing to a distant land.

But I'm happy here on this island today

With my feet firmly dug in the sand.

I feel so at peace with myself and my life,

So content with the little I've got.

Twenty five years ago when I became a wife,

I knew I had the best of the lot.

So as I sit here, looking out to sea,

Thanking my lucky stars above.

I'm happy with all that I've turned out to be.

Here in my world filled with love.
