Enjoying our love beneath the coconut palms.

The days we went diving,
And the nights we spent driving,
The hours we spent visiting our friends-
Very often we’d end up spending the weekends.
Try to remember
The days we both would cry,
When we almost had to say goodbye.
When our families were against our friendship,
And they said that together we’d face a lot of hardship.
Try to remember
The struggles we had to face,
The times we had to steal an embrace.
The countless hours we wished we were free,
To be just wherever and whatever we wanted to be.
Try to remember
The day we were both wed,
We knew there’d be good times ahead.
Yes, we had some great times, this is so true ,
But then things happened that left us both very blue.
Try to remember
The great pain we both felt,
On our misfortunes, we never dwelt.
Instead I tried my best to ignore the pain,
And tried to bear fruit again and again and again.
Try to remember
The love that we shared,
And the fact that you once cared.
The days and nights you sat by my side
On those one or two occasions when I almost died.

The one mistake I’ve made,
I know that now you feel betrayed.
