From Sunshine To Moonlight

Sat on the beach today in the scorching sun,
Having ourselves a great deal of fun.
Watching the ships as they passed across the bay,
Enjoying the water on our faces from the sea spray.
The brilliance of the sun was a sight to behold,
As it shone on the waters many tales were told.
The kids decided they wanted to fish
And we allowed them their only wish.

So home they went and got their fishing gear,
Thank God our home is close to the pier.
They also brought with them, some snacks,
Telling us to have fun and to relax.
Into the waters they cast their lines
Soon catching fish of various kinds.
They also buried each other in the sand,
None of the day’s activities was planned.

Not long after the sun said goodnight,
And very soon it was out of sight.
It was a delight to see the sun set,
It was as beautiful as anything can get.
Then out came the moon,
Followed by the guitar and the tune.
We all sat around and sang calypsos,
Some of us were drinking espressos.

The ships on the ocean were now all lit,
I wished I was aboard, I must admit.
While my brother took the fish home to cook us a meal,
We were having fun, what…I can’t reveal….
Suffice it to say, we had a great time,
So I thought I should write of it in a rhyme.
Now my cricket match has begun,
So I‘m off to have some more fun.
