Today has been my birthday,

And I thought I would be sad,

But with family and friends like those I have

I couldn’t be anything but glad.

The ‘lime’ started the day before,

To the Gasparee Caves we went,

Then on to Scotland Bay to bathe,

What a beautiful day we spent!

Worn out and tired I went to bed,

very early for a change.

Fell asleep as soon as I ‘hit the hay’,

I must admit it felt very strange.

Woke up early to lots of hugs and kisses

From my hubby. then my nephew, Che.

Into our pool he and I went,

Where we spent the early part of the day.

My sisters arrived not long after,

With plenty to drink and to eat.

Laughing, dancing, having lots of fun,

Oh, it was such a treat!

Back into the pool we went,

Some got thrown in against their will,

But everyone had to admit,

The cold water was indeed a thrill.

We stayed in the pool till after midnight,

It was one-thirty a.m. to be precise

Finally, we all got out of the cold,

To lots of hot coffee, which was nice!!

Another good birthday has come to an end,

Great company, good food, fine wine.

But I didn’t forget before going to bed

To hang up my “Do Not Disturb” sign!!
