When the universe feels you are ready, love will find you ...
Front Porch of Forever
by CJ Heck
Only in dreams
where I felt safe and warm
did I long for the one
who would complete me.
I knew he was there,
my soul sensed his.
Through many lifetimes
I have known him.
All the way down
to my open heart
and waiting soul,
I knew he was there
because I felt him.
All the while,
it was you,
from so many years ago.
I knew
when we touched,
when I breathed you in,
there was magic.
You are the one.
You love me
with my weaknesses.
You don't blame me
for them.
You are my strength,
as I am also yours.
Within a cuddle
love brings us home.
You steady me
when I stumble
you give me your hand,
not disdain for
tripping over bumps
I didn't see.
Yours is the soul
that longs to
join my half with yours
to share this journey
in awareness,
ever mindful of the
magical beings we are.
You are the one.
I cradle your heart
in my hands
as you also hold mine.
We love in trust
for we have earned
this trust
by sharing
our vulnerability
with unconditional love.
Take my hand.
Walk with me
into tomorrow,
our yesterdays
the stepping stones.
Through endless time
we'll sit side by side
hand in hand
in our chairs
on the front porch
of forever.
I knew you were there.
I felt you.
From my soul
and from my heart,
I choose you
to love.
With the first two stanzas I was invisioning years past with my Grandpas. Just grasping their hands made me feel safe and loved...a feeling that remains 'til this day.
Reading on, I realized the mature love of my husband. Beautiful memories you have prompted here, CJ...thank you for these!
Oh CJ...I've read this poem so many times today and just as I was about to comment, I realized I was late to a meeting which I shall not resent because it brings me back again. I think there is a special magic to finding this man you describe, one who meets and fills the emotional space that you have learned is important in your heart and life. I think your wants and needs are excellent ones...ones I would agree on with you completely and know you deserve. Believe me,he does exist and will be worth waiting for when he comes into your life unexpectedly. He will, I know it.
This is a heck of an incredible poem for you to return to AD with. You were missed and now you return and confirm and touch the desire of my own heart. I hope your Holidays were full of joy and I for one am thrilled that the New Year brings you back to us in such a special way. And to think I was expecting a children's poem! You blew me away Sis.

A sincere and passionate write, dearest CJ. I saw a much deeper meaning here, a longing to know and to feel the love of our Lord. Yes, He will walk beside you, if you let Him; He will hold your hand, if you let Him; He will never judge your lack, If you hold Him close...He is amazing. His love and concern for us, is extraordinary. Yes, I love this poem because of its depth. Thank you, precious CJ.
I love your poem. It's a testament that says, "I'm not afraid to admit I need and want love." It represents us all, for indeed, we all do need and want love.
This is a keeper...you crept right into my head with this one!!

So beautiful are these words CJ; so full of wisdom that the younger generation doesn't understand. Ride on with the wind my friend, You will have your hearts desire as you wait patiently on Him. God Bless, Holly
Oh CJ this is beautiful your words allow the reader to feel the passion that you've felt penning this heartfelt write. This is what we all strive and hope for and what we all deserve, someone to care, love, unconditionally and someone to grow old with, I love to rock on the porch, but my favorite place is beneath the shade trees, when it rains, you'll often find me on the porch in my big rocker. Great write CJ Loved it...and I'm so glad that you're back I've missed you...if you get a chance, check out a December posting, The Christmas Visitor, I thought of you when I wrote it...Great write CJ!
Blessings,

Wow, CJ. I think your feelings here are universal. Don't you wish it could be that easy? It seems like it should. Truly a sincere and hopeful and sad write.
Jesus CJ, this poem is beyond fantastic. You have captured the perfect love, known only to a fortunate few. This should be in a handbook of great relationships. This poem is headed for my library and should be used as a standard whereby poems are measured.

This is so beautiful. To find that one person who will understand
and not be controlling but whom trust means everything is fantastic
even in our dreams.Well done,
Michael
Wonderful CJ...I love the vision of the front porch. I also would like to have that very special person to share my life with, however I believe we need to be whole within ourselves in order to truly give of ourselves to that special person and they should be the same.
A rocking chair on a porch is the image of what one think is Waiting's face, to love or expected to be loved, even in your dreams is a sure thing to get smiles and chase waway the tears.
Great poem...with a touch of sadness.
