Summer Daze

Summer daze:
Lifts winter’s haze
The days are longer
The breeze is balmy

Summer daze:
The picnics
The family gatherings
The huge drumsticks
And most of all the jesting

Summer daze:
Filled with delight
For kids, not a book in sight
For adults, an opportunity for relaxation

Summer daze:
See the hummingbirds
Flitting all around
Soaking up the nectar
As we soak up the leisure

Summer daze:
The flowers’ fragrance fills the air
The wonderful smell of freshly mowed lawn
Savoring the moment and
Delighting in God’s beauty around us

Summer daze:
The abundance of fruit
Gotta’ eat more,
So, I’ll look cute in that swimsuit

Summer daze:
A time to enjoy life
And the beauty around us
Another example of God’s wondrousness

Summer daze:
How I’ll miss you when you’re gone
But, the memories will linger on
