The one where my eyes were
still cold and turned on
the ladies,
before I was sad
all of the time?
I was probably sad then
but I looked better.
Do you still have
that picture of me
in front
of the bronze eagle?
The one with the bandana
on my head next to a friend
who still had snakes
and dreams
and iguanas?
Do you still have
that picture of me?
The one where I didn't make
excuses and had lots of
admirers? The one
that confused vocabulary
for wisdom? The one
that knew destiny was mine
and denim would be back?
Do you still have
that picture of me?
The one that wrote often,
The one where it went
so well and didn't make a bunch of pointless excuses or lie without
reason or took a chance.
I have that picture.
I guess I just wanted
to know if
you had seen it too.
