Do you know where your next stop is?

I do not know what has happened, except,
suddenly...
I find myself in a strange place!

It is dark here, except for the dimly lit streetlights.
It is very quiet here on this side of the street.
I seem to be walking, and yet,
I cannot feel the ground.
I look down at the ground,
but cannot see my feet.

I’m walking as though I’m floating in the air.
My long dark hair is flowing in the wind.
Could it be that I am in a dream?

I flow into a beautiful garden.
In it, I can see many beautiful flowers.
In the dimness of the streetlights
I can see a young couple standing by a fountain,
they each throw in a coin and make a wish.
Their heads are filled with beautiful dreams.

Further, into the garden, I flow...

I can now see a young couple
sitting on the bench next to a cupid statue.
They are hugging and kissing each other.
How so beautiful are these
wonderful feelings of being in love!
In their world, only the two of them are existing -
they are unaware of the world beyond them.

I flow outside of the garden into the street.
It is still very quiet.
Yonder I can see some children
knocking on doors.
Ah!!... So, that is where all the action lies!

I flow across to where the children are -
I can see little people playing dress up for Halloween.
Little Superman, and Spiderman in their heroic costumes,
little Angels and Fairies in their beautiful gowns...
and oh! Those witches' noses and their broomsticks…
They are all out for Trick-or-Treat!

Now I suddenly remember why am I here.
I have a mission to myself.
A little girl is being born,
and I have been summoned.
I quickly flow towards the hospital.

In the operating room, I can see a woman
about to give birth to a baby.
The woman gives one final push,
and the little bundle of joy is now
present and ready to greet the world.
The baby has light pinkish skin,
and red curly hair.
What a beautiful baby!

The doctor holds the baby upside down and
slaps its bottom,
I quickly flow into her tiny body, and
cry out - the loudest sound of pure joy!
The nurse sucks the phlegm out of my throat,
and now I can breathe a whole lot easier.
Thank you, nurse!

She cleans me and wraps a blanket around me,
holds me next to my beautiful mother and says,
“It’s a GIRL!”
My beautiful mommy smiles at me.
“Hello, Melissa! Welcome to my world!”

A young man comes forward to greet me too.
“Oh what a beautiful girl you are!” He exclaims.
I extend my tiny little fingers and he holds them in gently.

“She has her daddy’s blue eyes and his red hair,” says the nurse.

I smile sweetly and kick up my heels, waving my arms at them.

“Hello all, it’s so good to be in your world!” I silently greet them all.
