Starting a new job, a clerk green as could be, itreally wasn’t that bad, everyone was so nice to me. But there was one man, I’ll never forget, a soldier I saw every day, who seemed so angry at life.
At first I just shrugged him off, some straight-laced military machine. We worked together every day, like or not, we were still a team. But working with this dour man, I sensed something very sad.
He was hiding a hurt deep inside, I could see it in his bright blue eyes.
Walking in the crowded cafeteria one day, not a seat to be found I spotted the Sarge all alone, and asked if I could sit down.
It seemed we had a lot in common,
life had kicked us both around. And it was on that fateful day, I knew something would happen soon.
We didn’t stay just friends for long
as our love began to bloom.
And when we wed, our life’s journey began; I was the proudest woman being married to the world’s most wonderful man.
