Angel on a Tortoise

friendship can be found in the strangest places

A tiny kitten, a brand new life
 a not so tiny tortoise
No one knew than, how much they
would be alike
She explored her new world to
see what she could find.   Than saw
it move slowly across the room
a new animal, not of her kind.

 It crawled slowly to a dish with
some green leaves, and hungrily
began to eat.   She hopped atop
its back with her tiny feet.

But it didn’t mind at all, and simply
ignored her and enjoyed his feast.
As time went by, this unlikely
pair became the best of friends.
Nothing could separate them.
They slept, walked and played all the time
The oddest thing they did though,
Angel ate Sam’s lettuce, while Angel’s
cat food was Sam’s delight!

Than one day the strangest thing,
And one thing that will remain in my head
When the kitten put her arm around the
tortoise, as if to say, you’re my best friend.
The closeness of these two strange creatures,
It’s hard to understand. But no where will there
be two friends as close as Angel and Sam

What a lovely poem. It is amazing how animals become attracted to other animals and unlike humans, they dont have to be the same.

Beautiful story! More and more I am seeing pictures and reading stories on the internet of odd animals becoming friends. Seems there is much humans can learn from them. If they can put aside their differences, then why can't mankind?

Oh my!!!!! What a pair!!!!! I have not seen a tortoise of that size yet. How old is the tortoise. Do they have to go into the water once in a while?

Angel seems to be having such great fun!! Cats know how to get others to do things for them. Heeeheee!!!
