Quiet moments...

Poem Artwork

I gaze through

the kitchen window

on a sleepless night–

the full moon

illuminates

the night sky.

The only sound to

be heard is

the hissing of water

in the teakettle,

waiting

to come to a boil.

I smile a “thank you,”

Appreciating

these special moments–

tiny snippets of time–

each one a stolen treasure.

INDEED, IN THIS MAD WORLD, SPECIAL 'MOMENTS' OF 'PURE PEACE' ARE AS A TREASURE...STOLEN. THANKS FOR SHARING AND GOD BLESS. LOVE,

They are only stolen treasures if we appreciate them for their beauty. You speak with incredible wisdom. "Thank you!"

God bless you. Kathy

Yes, yes, yes, from my bedroom window, that overlooks the forest run up, I see the wood pigeons a slumber and wake up to the dawn chorus, seeing the moon smiling through my windows, as I snuggle up contentedly...

Such peace and beauty, and here in a few words you've said it all. Notice you're initaly, Florance is a dream of mine, as is seeing the pope....

Divine poetry...

I can absolutely relate to these thoughts and the gratitude that you eloquently express. I have had so many such moments; it's good to know I'm not alone in aspiring to live in the "now." Very nice.

Dawn,
I liked and can identify with this one a lot. After we’ve been through enough of the storms we learn to appreciate the stretches of smooth sailing and give thanks for them. You did a great job of capturing that.

This one has that lovely quality that leaves the reader richer for having crept slowly by a master's words, and in the same lifetime! Your words are beautiful beyond my evaluation. Thanks you for this one, and other to follow. - Bill

The moments like this are perfect time memory capsules...when the whole house and even the world seems to be asleep and we can sit there in the night sipping a cuppa and marvelling at the world that often seems so garish in day light.

There is, you know? Special, private and delightful moments which speak to us, tell us we are alive and not just robots programmed to act and speak in a certain way . . . If we but listen . . . I am afraid I listen not as much as I should . . . But after saying that, I will say that I listen NOW much more than I ever did . . . Age . . . It tends to give you much more perspective, doesn't it?

Dawn,

What I needed to read this (early) morning--been up since 4:00 (ish) this morning, but mine wasn't a stolen treasure...stress!!! Started an arguement with my twin sis...not a great way to jump start the day. Pray for us?? Beautiful image/write, very well penned.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
