Dawn, it would seem we're riding the same wave - an appreciation and a "turning toward." I especially love your first two lines, but the entire message is budding with insight and timeliness.

Very powerful poem Dawn and the picture is a perfect illustration for this bleak time of year that in spite of its bleakness holds so much promise. The birds will return, the fruit trees will again blossom, and so will we.
Beautiful picture of a snow covered ground. The last stanza offers a wise thought, "planning and planting" not just in the ground, but in the mind, heart, and soul.
Very thought-provoking, Dawn. You have me imagining a new hobby, secretly practiced till spring and its unveiling. Just some of my thoughts. Thanks for sharing this piece.

Ah, this could be a full chapter in "A Mystic Garden." It's impact is wonderfully felt, but it is completely your style. I know this was written paradoxically, understanding your feeling for the winter season.
Looking ahead and not behind is what the sages tell us. Great pic but I'll be glad when the temperatures get up in the 40's again and not in the single digits.
