Grief comes at us head on like a storm, but like a storm, it begins to dissipate and just a few rain drops hit us each day.
All we have to do is keep our eyes on God and our memories in the palms of our hands.
Grief is a strange animal that can be tamed, love, however remains the same.
It seems like yesterday
you took my hand and I heard you say
"Marry me and we will see just what
the future brings."
You took my hand and stole my heart
and our life was wonderful from the start.
Our love grew as did our family
with each new life came a new
awareness of just how fragile we really are
The knowledge that we are not promised tomorrow
But that each day should be lived to the fullest
We live in the present and our time is borrowed
We set out to hold in our hands the love and devotion man for woman and woman for man
We watched our children grow older and leave
One by one they started their own dreams
Of lives filled with love and hope and
faith
So we have our past and we lived our present together in love and looking toward forever.
Two are now one, and the past seems so close, I can close my eyes and touch it feel you kiss on the tip of my nose.
As you did every morning before our day began
Healing came slowly, as most healings do
but know I feel I can go to my future without you
But please know that you are always near as close as a memory, as close as a tear
I will always love you, but I can go on
God gave me strength and He gives me hope
In a future in which I won't be alone
