Webster's defines heroes as those one who show great courage.
God Bless our American Heroes!
Excitement was in the air
Nervous laughter, deep sighs
Even tears in many eyes
How long had it been
Since she had seen
The man she had married
The man she adored
How long had it been
Since he had walked out the door
Standing proud, standing tall
For the rights of those
He did not know at all
Applause then cheers
As the first heroes appeared
And ran into the arms
Of mother and fathers
Sisters and brothers
Wives in tears but tears of joy
Mothers, reunited with
Their girls and boys
But she stood there still
Afraid to breath
Because her hero she did not see
Time stood still
As tears filled her eyes
For there he was no longer walking,
BUT ALIVE
She ran to his wheel chair
And wrapped him in her arms
He was home, and that was all that mattered
“I love you!” he told her.
She introduced him to his sweet baby daughter
And with a heart filled with pride said
“Welcome home solider!”
