She walked along
The crowded sidewalk
Shuffling her feet
Never making eye contact
With the people she would meet
Never trusting anyone she is
Always alone, she had
No where to call home
Dirty clothes upon her back
All she owns in a paper sack
But did any one
Really see her?
As she crossed their path
Could they see
The anguish in her eyes
Of the life she had spent?
She had once been a beauty
The belle of the ball
And now no one sees her
As if she did not exist at all
She talks to herself
And that makes
Them uncomfortable
Much easier to ignore her
Than to reach out and help
Ask her if she’s hungry
Or if she needs a hand
What has happened to
The people of this land?
“There but for the grace of God”
Does not cross their minds
They think she reaped
What she sowed
Maybe they should stop
And think
Or maybe
Just maybe
They should
Wash her feet

WoW! Don't believe I've ever seen anyone post three poems in one day. Maybe I haven't been paying attention.
I'll give her a buck, her feet I'll leave to someone else.
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
Beautif
