everlasting hope

never give up, never surrender, never put a tuna melt in the blender . . . .

looking to the ground
and holding back a tear
wearing just a frown
chilled by wind and fear

perhaps a new direction
would be circumspect
a different point of view
to proclaim and project

for downward things seem dark
and naked things seem cold
but if do look up
ah! sunlight I behold

I climb out from the cave
that I've happily reclused in
advice some angel gave
I wake from a nightmare grim

my chin escapes the confines
of my heaving chest

I will see through

I was shocked at first

but I can find diamonds in the sea

This is a nice work of thought...the ever changing emotions and possibilities that life and change bring into each segment of life...from innocence of age to the realities of inner conflicts...even so the small light of Hope prevails, and one is left to enter the sea and find those diamonds within the rough...

nice work...

enjoyed, Art Sun...

Dark yes, but with a beckoning light and hope beyond. That's my take on your poem. Very nicely expressed, Cody. Love and best wishes,

LOLOL, the first line is pure crazy magic. And jumping in to the sea seems to have its advantages...
Much pain within these words though...
