Along a worn, serpentine path,
with scraggly trees bent overhead
where the route leads to a hilltop
there perches a mansion of dread.

It is called "The Two Swans" inn.
Food and lodge for a paltry fee,
but only grizzled old pirates
inside of it ever do see.

It is a place where buccaneers
come to finally meet their Maker,
only to find He won't have them
and the Devil is their taker.

Would you not think it a good place?
"The Two Swans" sounds truly sublime.
Who would think Satan in there lurks
quietly smiling, biding the time?

They come from ships in the harbor
and take up retirement inside.
Thus, pirates and thugs there live
and die with Satan by their side.

Its cavernous walls are covered
with webs of every design.
And vile rodents roam the hallways
while eerie darkness clouds the time.

Screams are heard on many a night
as the Devil recounts their sins.
when the awful time has come
to take leave of "The Two Swans" inn.
