Lost in a wall of flames behind the mask,
my life was seared from your very grasp.
Through the pyre I ran, was late,
never made it to heavens gate.
Nor do I know how long it will take.
I am forever in this heartbreaking ache.
The heavens fall, new souls released.
We die we're reborn, unleashed.
Back into this world of unrelenting grief.
I see the green of trees but too much hate.
I see faces bloom on the darker side of the moon.
I am not ready yet to leave this womb…
To be born again into this whirl.
To go through storms and ocean floors.
To come back to this life once more.
To learn to open up that big new door.
To learn to love…to love once more.
The painting is one of my latest. I portrayed an Asian woman to show that America has many faces. The photo didn't come out that great. I will be getting better pictures done.
Brightly curtained images. Wonderfully orchestrated. Jeanette your painting dances what your penned verses speaks. Beautifully balanced. I'm wondering, after deep contemplation of your words, is man ready to run to heaven's gate...hmmmmm...
I'm honored that you have shared so freely your voice with me and others.
