The girl sits in the chair and watches the world go by not really wanting to join in on the fanfare
she sees outside herself for a change enjoying the complacency of the moment contemplating the writing on the wall knowing that one day she will be strong enough to join life again...
Addendum:
This was inspired by the face of my grandaughter Nicole. Also inspired by one of the masters paintings of a boy in a chair. I don't remember which one.
The painting itself is an Oil on 20" oval canvas.

Highlights once again the sheer power of the unalloyed... To be able to receive and transmit (without too much admixture - from the mentality, etc)the inspiration.
This can also be metaphoric in the way that in a world full of adult corruption, the inner child in us all wishes it come come out and not be judged for being true to the self. So surreal.
