so shiny and cold
lives lost untold
over silver and gold

Brings sorrow and pain
loves worst bane
things never the same
can drive you insane

ashes and tears
it ages you years
and makes real your fears
to lose all you hold dear

anger and shame
no one to blame
it causes you pain
yet the cause is so plain

makes kings and queens
buys anything
as real as it seems
it fades like a dream

but will it suffice?
who pays the price
for this single vice
won with luck of the dice?
