Mantras of aboriginal extremes
Swirl within the elrectomagnetic currents
Of the Aurora Borealis
Spirits of long gone days
Smile down from the haze of colors
The misty otherworldly place
A divine space
Heavenly in form and conception
The waking dream of
Occupation
Greets us with the sun
Every morning
Waking to the state of
Colonization
My native mind denied its full
Expression
The creativity of me
The absolute need to express
Who I be
I know you can feel me
Cause we all in the same boat
Taking an unwilling toke off
The same bubonic weed
Our ancestors choked on
Paying back the karma of centuries past
We are the last in a long line of generations
We are the divine
Nation of Colors
Every conceptual creation of
Kingdom Come
Becomes what it truly is inside
We have absolutely nothing to hide
My brothers and my sisters
Can you feel the joy
Can you feel the heat bubbling up
In you chest
The vibrations roiling within you
Reaching boiling point only to be
Suppressed
Once again
While we
Wait
Wait on God
To give us the sign
The last one in a long line
Oh yes, y’all,
This time is indeed divine
So take your time
Sit back and relax
Watch the world go to hell
While an undercurrent of native lore
Swells and we greet each other with the
Ancient words of
Hoka hey!
The medicine wheel yet turns
As the world continues to burn
And we yearn for our freedom
To be
Or not to be
Take it from me
And breath deeply
Close your eyes and chant
Don’t pay attention to the media slants
That prematurely trumpet our demise
AIDS is the #1 killer of African-descended
people today!
Native Americans currently possess the
highest rates of diabetes in the world!
The divide between rich and poor has become
a gulf that can never be erased!
The Republican party will never lose
another election!
Asians hate Mexicans who hate Blacks who hate
Everybody!
Listen to the lies
And smile inside
As you go about your day
Take care of your family and your business
Go chill on the porch and watch the children play
Sing the songs you hear on the radio out loud
Always stand proud
Tomorrow and today
Allow yourself to be blessed and
Let your soul say
Hoka hey!
Reindeer
Greets us with the sun
Every morning
Waking to the state of
Colonization
My native mind denied its full
Outstanding lines....overall, a great poetry....cheers...love n luck...BHUWAN!!
This strikes many questions. The message of this poem has been delivered. "Native (Hoka Hey!)" is a brilliant cut diamond,
which I must count the triangles by re-reading it many times.
Keep posting, Poet!

Stunning in its power, your words shine a beacon of hope for the Native. The imagery is outstanding--love the first stanza, especially!
