Poem Artwork

Every night just as the
Sun is setting I walk
Down the same worn
Path of stones, where
We’ve walked a million
Times

Two gulls in love dance
On the water

A lonely gull swoops
Down for it’s last meal
Of the evening on the
Sandy stretch of beach

It’s mate calls and they
Both fly off to their secret
Secluded café to dine

I climb the winding steps
Of the lighthouse hoping
With all my heart that this
Will be the night that my
Love returns to me

When the sun disappears
Behind the horizon I
Immediately light one
More candle like I do
Every night without fail

I watch the gentle waves
Make love to the shore
I can hear its serenade of
Love while it carries it out
To the silvery sea

My love and I said our last
Somber good byes sitting here
Clinging to one another looking
Out at the silvery sea lit by the
Moon through desperate tears

Looking at the view from
This quiet little lighthouse, I
Know that the sea has seen and
Holds all of our hopes, tears
And memories.

I can only hope that it’s those
Memories and tears that will
Bring my love back to me on
Our sea of love

As a cloud passes and shades
The moon once more, a tear
Falls on the lone flickering
Flame and it goes out

So tomorrow, I will return to
This little lighthouse and watch
Dusk fade to night, light my
Candle and wait for my adored
To come on our sea of love

You have painted a very vivid picture with your words. Romantic as all get out! This is *sigh* material!

Looking out to sea...
can it be that the sea has an infinite feel to it, without horizon, where anything is possible?
