The Hated Word

I don’t know what it’s called, or
If it’s called anything, but I did
Every other verse in Haiku form

Rat race; hate that word
I shudder to think of it
Human race…not rats!

A pity that some humans
Live like rats in tunnels
Where steel boxes run just
like them

Rat-tailed comb – feel faint
Don’t you put that in my hair
Clawing at my scalp

I’d rather get a straight part
With a no tailed comb that glides
Through my hair without my
Worrying about it falling in my
Lap

What is a rat fink?
Someone bad that tells on you?
I abhor that word

I’ve done nothing so there’s
Nothing to tell. I can’t imagine
A rodent standing on its hind
Legs talking about me
.

A mouse and mouse pad
I guess it’s a rat’s cousin
Housed in a condo

They are the only things I can
Tolerate, they’re the only things
That lets me type my poems. I slide
Across the floor holding its back
And pushing its left ear

But I don’t like it!

Ratty love to you....lol...
Rats in general are okay......but if they die in your ceiling....God they can stink....had one in mine last week.....lol....
I stay on a farm and have this problem of the rats getting into my garage and then into my ceiling....and at night they sound like soccer players .....scary thought hey.....but at least I know they are not ghosts....hehehe

Wow, sounds like a horrific affinity, Marilyn...scary write, I never was too afraid of mice, hardly ever saw a rat, couple dead ones that were extremely large and ugly...oh, man, get these thoughts out of my head!! Creepy old rats!

Now this is the levity we all need tonight. I just had my hairdresser over to trim my bangs with a rat tailed comb. Funny now but I must go and read this to her. She will die laughing. Thank you immensely for the fun. We all are in need of uplifting.
Love and peace,
Susan
