Dreaming in the dark
of me being in the dark
I see nothing but black
in darkness, so I close
my eyes and it’s still dark

Stumbling towards the
window, I feel for the
shade and pull it up –
there is nothing but the
dark blackness of night

I stick my hand out and
something grabs my arm
I can’t see it but it feels
cold

The arm pulls me through
the window and leads me
blindly toward a tiny speck
of white light in the distance,
but it doesn’t change in size
on my approach

As quick as the speed of light
a Gush of wind blows the
tiny light out

I scream out in the blackness.
the wind shrills my voice
and shuts it off quickly at its
peak

I awake in the dark and find
myself behind my closed eyes
in the dark
