“Poets can write only from their points of reference. I write as an old Black woman observing and experiencing my own humanity wherever I find myself at the moment. Today’s moment is now.”
Black men, women and children are under siege worldwide As are the poor and innocent of all nations regardless of race. Women and children are in the same war which is one of survival. Noisy solders are running willy nilly killing each other for momentary power In a game designed by the powerful Who do not need to take the time to kill you or I
Too many of us do it for them with guns, aids, and hatreds which are spawned in quasi religious doctrines and practices. Yesterdays ammunition is useless in today’s guns. Raising clinched empty fists in rapidly darkening skies becomes a dance for fools as new colorful flags cover more bodies And stupid continues to be our most dangerous enemy. If we must hate let us hate stupid who delights in his pretense That is after all his modus operandi. Those not prepared for survival need to shut the f*** up And realize that many who serve religion have no concept of God in themselves or the universe.
Revelation is the real revolution and floundering Is best left to fish and other water creatures. Not birds seeking to evolve as men. Buzzards still feast upon the dead and Sometimes the dying if they too are extremely hungry.
Good rants! We see people fighting, dying, everyday. Some goes to war and come back with uneraseable mental scars. The effects are too immense to be shaken off. This is a lifelong suffering even when the war is won.
deeply moving. Mikii this is a strong soul-touching poem on humanity and freedom. As usual I enjoy reading every bit or your work. Thank you my friend and God bless you.
A powerfully wise statement, Mikii. Thank you for sharing your sentiments. Love and peace to you,
Regis

I rant about "stupid" every day of my life. This is a beautiful rant as well. And Mikii, I doubt very much if you will ever be "old." The caring heart never ages, just goes beautifully into the sunset.
