We are mankind pretenders to the species human,
Made in the image of God,
Inheritors of the planet earth and instruments its’ destruction.
We are mankind, murders of the souls of the helpless,
Rampages of the coffers of the needy, attired in the cloak
Of a too dull light and we thrive on images as we live our
Lives of hate filled illusion.

We are mankind, amassers of wealth in trinkets of destruction
As leaderless hordes sacrifice their future generations
With slogans of peace.
We are mankind purveyors of monotheism while we celebrate
Newly created idols under the guise of religious pluralism and
Songs of sanctity.

We are mankind, as we irresponsibly reproduce children whom we decline to feed and then eat them after killing their glory and what could be if we cared.
We are mankind, cowardly and afraid to worship the true God because
We cannot imagine his glory, his grace, or his love.
So instead we hate each other because it takes less effort than love.

We are mankind steeped in ignorance at a time when a true explosion of knowledge could teach us wisdom.
We are mankind, much smaller creatures in the universe of intelligence,
Having choices prefer the folly of fools.
We are mankind despisers of self when it can only be seen in the reflection of others.

We are mankind, the most feared and predictable mammals on earth
And yet survive momentarily our mortality because of our love and creation of technology, idolatry, vanity and blindness.
