Romance is for grownups.

©2007 M. Bennett Hooper

Let us begin with the windfallof your own self realization
the proclamation the sad truth and excuse I am messed up
mentally my heart in ashes from the last catastrophe putting me on hold till you finally see what it is you feel
is inhibiting me.

Making you pay for old mistakes knowing my heart is wrapped into you with all it takes inside your mind.
Your thoughts consume most of me you feeling me the kiss we shared so beautifully etched in memory we touched souls intimately yet you string and control the tempo without conscience leaving my patience in embers and misunderstanding.

The calm waters rage in controversy and confusion not ready yet as you are still holding onto self control that's not necessary.
Binding yourself in a cocoon to feel safe and familiar as fear grips you yet the word love falls loosely from your lips without its' prayers and its'thoughts and wants.

Would I have not appeared we embark each day on nonchalant coldness instead of honesty as walking miles apart to just be near without allowing the other to feel the warmth embedded between the yearnings we lie to each other while the emotions stain each word spoken.
Can you handle me?

a well done work exposing the inner working of the human animal-such lengths we go not only to be close to another but to alo keep a distance--well written

When the calm waters rage in controversy and confusion one should bury the head inside that corner, the one made by a shoulder and the side of the neck, where one can find comfort, tenderness and warmth.
Of course, you can be handled, if you can handle me...
Georg
