(Prelude)

When you don’t read or limit your reading to

Entertainment Weekly, Play Book, and TV Guide

your vocabulary tends to be limited, as well as,

your ability to decipher code words of the present

plans and agendas or buzz words to help you

appear intelligent.

INCESTUOUS AMPLIFICATION

“Incestuous amplification,” was defined in

Jane’s Defense Weekly as, “a condition in warfare

where one only listens to those who are already

in lock-step agreement, reinforcing set beliefs

and creating a situation ripe for miscalculation.

Thank God for the New York times.

If you read only one newspaper that paper

for a national and international overview should be

The New York Times before they shut it down.

But somehow The Times missed the story of

27 year old Kenya born Leonard Gakinya

whose body was found dangling 30 feet above

ground connected to a 100 foot communications

tower in downtown Springfield, Missouri

on October 2, 2002.

His hands were tied behind his back

with an almost perfect noose around his neck.

The Green county medical officials ruled this death,

a “clear cut suicide.”

The Police department after much

community activism says the case remains

under investigation.

So this is not really a poem but an observation

which brings us back to

incestuous amplification.

Make no mistake the war is not limited

to the Middle East or Korea.

The Black man’s war is ongoing and should you

fall asleep or not maintain your vigilance,

you may find yourself a victim of suicide.

Or you may be in a situation where one

only listens to those who are in lock-step

agreement reinforcing set beliefs and creating

a situation ripe for miscalculation.
