Excuse Me for Being Insulted

c.2003 M. Bennett Hooper

Excuse me for being insulted by patterns of corruption by our institutional leaders in politics, the government, mis-education religion, and daily life.

Like patterns of corruption are now the latest norm for guiding people of limited vision.

Visions which are limited by competitive interests where oil production and consumption have become the most lucrative drugs of the global elite.

A drug which is camouflaged by special interests under weapons of mass destruction but how about SUV’S and Hummers and 10 miles per gallon of gas guzzling vehicles while gas prices approach $2.00 per gallon for premium.

Excuse me for being insulted for being led by C students with rich relatives who paved their way through elite universities which released them with certification on an unsuspecting populace.

Excuse me for being insulted by those who equate certification with education and discontinue further research and study as if true learning ceases during one’s lifetime.

Excuse me for being insulted by religious practices which replace the Entertainment Centers of America regularly on Sunday mornings and daily on television with dancers, singers, orchestras, and thespians who congratulate each other on their ability to raise the financial bar for religious re-investment by their given denominations for everything except their respective communities.

The same communities which provide the source of their income while they grow rich and exclaim that the poor will always be with us.

Excuse me for being insulted by the irresponsible sexual practices of multiple egg donors who act as if multiple births of multiple sperm donors babies constitute healthy family foundations and accept my third baby daddy as a term of honor when all of the babies have different daddies but no fathers.

Excuse me for being insulted by irresponsible leaders who sacrifice our youth by sending them out to fight in wars for which they are unprepared because they cannot discern the difference between propaganda and reality.

When imperialism is cloaked in freedom for the oppressed especially if they are possessors of natural resources which we crave.

Excuse me for being insulted by the philosophies of people who sell their souls for momentary sound bites and fifteen minutes of fame Kobe Bryant. A boy who sacrificed his future because he could not control his penis, not realizing that it would have been far better to be a eunuch than a world class fool.

Excuse me for being insulted by talented young people who believe that talent alone will carry them successfully without work, and who are silly enough to believe that employers are bound by job classifications.

Super market cashiers can also wash windows and sweep floors especially if no one is buying merchandise.

Excuse me if I am insulted by customer service employees who are angered by the presence of customers who make their jobs possible and the employers who fail to train them in the usage of simple courtesies they should have learned at home.

Excuse me if I am insulted by those who hold themselves blameless for where they find themselves in life’s stations less than they desire, as if desire alone would guarantee progress.

Excuse me if I’m insulted by men and women who waste their greatest God given gifts of life by whining, crying, and not recognizing that to struggle against negative forces is to grow, rather than succumb to those forces.

Excuse me if I’m insulted especially if you’re not by rampant ignorance bought by millions when true enlightenment is free if one takes the time to pursue it.

Excuse me for being insulted by those who expect me to be anyone else except myself.

And to deny that there is indeed light at the end of every tunnel if one is willing to look and after looking move toward the light.

EXCUSE ME FOR BEING INSULTED but then that’s JUST ME.
