Not because they are Black, not because the are poor, but because hopelessness breeds violence in the hearts of would be warriors doing ghost dances from times gone by.

Tick tocking clocks approach the hourly awaited chime as every 11 minutes a Black child is arrested for a violent act.
Not because they are Black, not because they are poor but because the rage of those who feel hopeless is uncontainable when options are considered unattainable.

Twelve, four, eight, twelve, a daily four hour span means a Black child has been murdered and most times by an every 6 hour gunshot wound.The fourth leading cause of death for 1-4 year old black children and third leading cause of death of 5-14 year olds is violence.
The second leading cause of death in Black children 1-4, and 5-14 years of age was homicide.
All of this occurred in 1991.

By 1995 73% of all arrests were white, 85% of all rural arrests were whites.
However 52% of all persons in jails in counties, cities, state and federal penitentiaries are Black.
Privatized jails create jobs and taxes outside of the areas of the dispossessed.
As hungry eyes look into the cauldrons created by marginalization of a societal segment and politicians espouse family values while schools become breeding grounds for the disenchanted and parents deny knowledge and responsibility for their children because of claims of employment demands.

Elders living alone fear that they too may be drawn into a cycle of violence as they are eyed by youthful predators whom they are hesitant to kill if but momentarily.
Hiding in houses with barred windows and doors only proclaims that prisons exist in many neighborhoods and third world villages are only blocks away.
