Little has changed as I revisit love and loving once more. So I reenter this piece of two years ago. I am warmed by the power of truth.

Sex is for dolphins, rabbits and eagles who fly alone. Love is for humans. Overstand this...Love is long lasting never fasting growing ever showing that passion is more than a state of mind the euphoria which drives all humankind. Love is more than you or me but everlasting throughout eternity. Love is gracious , love is kind, generous and peace of mind.
Erupting into the bowels of hypocracy I arrived fresh from a dying womb as my mother left six days later to be seen no more on this side of reality. The tasteof her blood holds me even now as I practice nurturing the minds of my children yet unborn. Arriving whole alive and visibly Black destined to become a child robbed of childhood and yet survive as a proud Black woman unbowed by the chains which would deny my humanity.
No remorse for my world space which proclaims that fat, Black and old are somehow a curse eventhough food is the opiate of the poor. Warm food, tasteful food, food prepared by those who love it and you and all the while denying they are indeed committing suicide. Fork in hand smiling as sweets tumble down into stomachs bloated from the lies that deny the children their healthy inheritance.
Dying before time from love filled hearts too tired to beat one more day and still we celebrate our life and that of our newly born cubs who would be lions if we had not lain so long with jackals that we adopted their ways. Sex is for dolphins, rabbits, and eagles who fly alone. Love is for humans unafraid of its' ecstasy, challenge, and fulfillment.

Marion, this was a great message, reminded me of this one:The lion and the calf shall lie down together but the calf won't get much sleep.

Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
Excellent poem.
