There’s a toadstool in my garden.
Just a wee thing,
tucked beneath the Dandelions.
I know there’s a fairy living there,
as I see her in the moonlight,
flitting thru the air.
I have to kneel to speak to her
and put my head down low,
then whisper to her very slow.
I know she hears me ‘
cause I see her all aglow.
I think this fairy loves me
as she pecks me on the cheek
and then just as quickly,
I may not see her for a week.
I love to go and kneel down there
even tho it’s late.
Sometimes she’s right there for me,
sometimes she makes me wait.
She’s wanting to cover me
with her golden fairy dust
to make me more her size.
I think I would like that,
just to look into her eyes.
No one knows about my Lady,
the fairy oh so small.
Just she and I together,
sitting on her wall.
She said that I could come and go,
being both tall and small.
Finally I said “Alright “
as the moon was full that night.
So I gave her my trust
letting her sprinkle her fairy dust.
Now I come and go, both tall and small
with my Fairy Lady every night.
When the moon is full and bright,
we sit together hand in hand
on a fairy wall.
