Poem Artwork

spun glass

it wasn't just you
i chose to exclude,
even though, you were,
just that special.

it was everyone,
i chose to un-choose,
in all ways, always
keeping the world
at bay, not beck,
arm's out-stretched
an equal distance,
on either side,
guard-up walls
of invisible mending,
transparent as glass,
but blown tight.

this grand dismissal
did not include
my daughters,
or their children,
animals in our care,
surrogate  offspring,
my brothers,
aged relatives,
or characters allowed,
free passage,
locked between
the pages of books.

but it did include you,
in black-balled ink,
even though, you were,
just that special.

i wonder now,
in all my silence,
year upon year,
built over the miles,
do you still hear
the repetitive beats
of my heart-speak,
echoing your name,
my arms yet
wide-spread,
but this time
in eagle-dance
preparing to fly?

                                                                            ... to you.

Oh Anne;

Such PASSION, dear Lady! Very nicely conveyed to the reader! I was once very much in love with such a woman... who loved me back, but just couldn't break free of her world (nor I, mine) to consummate one of the most heartfelt loves I have ever known. I think of her still, KNOWING she does the same of me. That love WLL be forever.

Anne, this is a compulsively readable and imaginatively-penned creation! A GREAT write full of great lines and images! Extraordinary work!

maybe he is wondering the same thing......i think when a person comes to mind that you are out of touch with......and its such an intense feeling.......especially if its out of the blue.....in truely believe in my soul.....its because that person is thinking of you.......and at the very moment......you connect as strong as if you were close enough to touch.......i have believed this my entire life.......pax......ty for this write..........A
