pinocchio in pinafore

pinocchio in pinafore

raised by wolves
despite my inner protest
i ran like a girl
to be one among them,
a real, live boy.

the tears rained down
but went unheard
until finally i was silent,
riddled with dry-rot,
dead girl, walking.
