this room ...

this room
an ocean
our bed afloat
books and papers
create the wake.

this room
our island
our bed the shelter
yogurt and popcorn
our mainstays.

this room
a jungle
our bed a hammock
soothing music
rocks us to sleep.

this room
a cave
our bed of furs
love for heat
a long-lit fire.

this room
our mountain
our bed the sleigh
zig-zagging along
an avalanche of desires.

this room
our kingdom
our bed the throne
you the king
and i your queen.

staged a "bed in" this weekend.  truly relaxing.  the best part was when we climbed out at very nearly dark, late in the afternoon on saturday, and ventured to the grocer for provisions for our continued bed-in.  we were extremly peppy and giddy in the store, while all the other shoppers were as lethargic as zombies.  case in point, we had only been upright for 20 minutes tops and had not left our sactuary for hours upon hours.  everyone else seemed slightly more stressed by comparison.  we raced home with our goodies and continued the "bed-in"  until we absoulutely had to leave the four untucked hospital corners and get some shi* done today!  since it is the room i most bonded in/with this weekend, it seemed fitting for this challenge ... and i highly recommend "bedding-in" for anyone who wants major stress relief!

I like it! Excellent advice too! A creative use of your bed as the anchor point in this ever evolving and changing piece. This concept would also make a wonderful challenge... Taking an object that is taken for granted yet is so essential to us... and writing about it in such a way. Nicely done!
