Sharing the Season with a Blanket Hog

...seeking solace, shivering ... can't get warm.

This stubborn, unyielding season
brings maddening, absolute refusal,
the sky unwilling to let go its take.

Nothing falls, lands on my tongue,
no six-sided tears on my eyelashes,
my vision obscured by green grass.

High temps and sun-breaking records,
and yet cold fingers of winter taunt me,
as I sit here, frozen, sans a snow blanket.

*************"They said there'd be snow for Christmas.  They said there'd be peace on earth!"

Let it go! Let it snow! Let it snow! I miss those sled rides down a long, deep hill. I don't miss the long walk back to the top! Thanks, Anne.

(((anne)))

if you don't like winter, come to texas--it's nearly 80 degrees here NUTS--supposed to have a cold front tomorrow, highs will fall into the low 50s by evening, and we won't get out of the 40s monday and tuesday

i don't mind the cold, it's the wind that kills me--slices right through me LOL

then again, if you like snow...like me...i haven't seen a good snowfall since 1985...13" inches...in SAN ANTONIO of all places LOL a freak snowstorm...lasted three days YAHOOOOOOOOOOO :)

all we get here is ice and THAT'S nuts--crazy drivers

hope you get the snow you want

love this write--it warmed my heart :) thanks for the memory jogs of snowfalls i remember in my youth (siggghhhhhhhhh--the blizzard of 1978 comes immediately to mind)

(((HUGS))) and love,

karla. :)
