there, waiting
admittedly,
i struggle
and kick
every time
we go up
another level.
i tell you
there are
no more
walls
no barriers
between us.
you realize
i've merely
refashioned
the walls
to form
a brick ceiling.
i am
perfectly
willing
to keep
this love
at bedrock.
you keep
pushing me
to the top
where we
can truly
shine.
i both
hate
and love
the way
you prod
and shove.
soon
i'll know
what it's
like to
really be
on top.
groundwork
forever
in place
i will
climb now
to the roof

This poem's form and words show a confidence that comes to a
climax in the last portion. Great work!
