You watched, patient, amused, but hurting too, by default, loving me, watching me struggle to remove the last stitch, the remaining threads, the tiny bits of armor.
I stand before you, now stripped of bark, no bite left, no fight, wholly naked always, for your eyes only, while everyone else sees a tall woman in a blue sweatshirt.

Your entire collection of posted poems have such truth. It isn't everyone who can turn event, emotion, or a dull transaction into something very special. A unique ability to transcend the mundane which is the substance of most lives. This work is should be a guidepost for every poet before they tackle a sonnet or write song lyrics over a broken dishwasher, or heart, being of the same aesthetic weight.
You are not playing nice...Anne. Each of us sees what we want to see, real or not. I like how you used the fleece to give a soft side to the pain of openness and the absence of your armor. I think we see eye to eye on this issue.
