I'm nearly halfway around the world
from my western place of young birth.
Never did I dream as a little kid
that I'd be here one day, by the Med.
but, here I am in a grand Bedoine tent
about to depart what I had never dreamt.
Egypt, with its culture, rocks, and desert--
pyramids, battle fields, and Bazaar's worth.
The land in which the Hebrew's were slaves
and Mary and Joseph fled a tyrant's wave.
Pharaoh's once reigned supreme o'er this land
and German's invaded and Brits denied the sand.
I've seen the Giza pyramids, sphinx, and poor,
the Nile, Cairo, the Bazaar and more.
I've played on the sand, on a ship, and in the air,
eaten pumice and peta bread, and payed the best
fare
I'm nearly halfway around the world
from home, and am now ready to end this tour.
