It Kills Me

I don't want to live in a world
where dishes are stacked so high
they almost touch the light above
and the stink they give off
would make a rotten egg jealous.

I don't want to live in a world
where clothes lay like mosaic tiles
all along the floors and chairs
and the trash sits neglected
with the dust bunnies to play.

I don't want to live in a world
in which there is an ongoing experiment
to see which cultures grow best
on what food stuck to which pots or pans
lying helpless in the sink.

I don't want to live in a world
where I'm always cleaning up
and the next day starting all over again.
I live in this frightful world
and it kills me just looking at it.

I have many thoughts on this

but simply put no one wants to live in a world like this and yet we are constantly cleaning up after it... wether it's our mess or not we can only stand it for so long

it will kill you... in more ways than one

Isn't that always the way it goes. Nice relationships there. I like the whole germ culture idea. It makes a certain kind of philosophical sense to me, but I might just be that crazy. Bravo.

I know what you mean. It's horrible being amidst a mess - but hey, there's a beginning to all cleaning.. :) Excellent write J!

Middle Class Outing v2 by RickthePoetWarrior

It's about how middling we are and middle means middle only like a big middle and class isn't school and outing's not a trip.
