Spirit of a Loner

I have the spirit of a loner.
I would rather be alone in paradise
than to be there with people all around.
I like my time alone, to reflect,
and write, and to plan out my life.
I don't feel comfortable in groups
although I can function in them.
I don't like busy places,
although at times I find them exciting.
I often feel that others slow me down,
and with them there are worries.
I don't hate other people
I just don't always like to be around them.
I just have the spirit of a loner
and would rather be alone in paradise.

*Aug. 4, 2002, in paradise ('nalo, Hawaii).

These Black and Blue Red Zone Days by Aberjhani

Just as life during the pandemic was color-coded with different hues representing different levels of danger, life in its aftermath has become shaded in similar ways. As a self-styled “Seeker of Beauty with Beauty,” (borrowing from a quote by W.E.B.
