Slapping waves upon the outcropping rocks
beacon lights pulse from the distance
piercing wind drives the slapping waves
blowing the orange-red hued clouds
painted by the waking distant sun.
Braving the wind and the chilling cold
huddling persons in the stilted pagoda
waiting for the sun to peep its waking head
watching the orange-red and grey painted sky
slowly softening into a light blue hue.
Waiting with the motor running and heater on
a couple speaks from the heart
watching the slapping waves and huddling persons
waiting for a new day to shine forth
brightened by the experience they share.
Dispelling the orange-red hues and light blue
the waking sun disperses its light all around
bathing the slapping waves in light and shadows
dispersing the huddled persons and couple
beginning another day in the sky above.

It's been 16 years since my flight took a weekend trip to Sokcho and Sorak-san {I was AF intel}... One of the more vivid experiences in my 2-year tour. Grew up a lot. Thanks for reminding me of that period in my life [not that I could forget!].
