Beauty
'Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a quiet and gentle spirit....'
1 Peter 3:3-4
I
Old Mr. Crab took Mrs. Crab and Katie, who was eight,
Away somewhere, to see the fair,
And have their fun until the sun
Had set and it was late.
They strolled the bustling fairgrounds filled with people to and fro;
Past popcorn carts and games of darts,
Until the day was spent away
And it was time to go.
But when they'd made their exit and were nearly to the car,
They cried, "Oh dear , our child's not here!"
"She's still inside!" the husband cried,
"But can't be very far!"
They searched and searched the carnival and vowed, "We mustn't cease!"
But came the dawn when all were gone,
And in despair they left the fair
To seek out the police.
I like the original rhyme scheme in this poem. You have me on the hook! See you at the next part~
