This poem "1966....A Trying tryout" is in my poetry book "Lighthouse Rainbows".
1966....A TRYING TRYOUT I had pitched greatly In a baseball street game And baffled batters my neighbor who was Absolutely estactic Over what he had seen Said that he knew someone Who would like to see me So a tryout was arranged So we arrived to give it a try And the results were not good And nothing that I did Went very well at all My pitches were wide my pitches were short Pitches were all over the place I had tried and tried and tried And my best efforts went awry

My neighbor was trying to do a favor for me and when I got the chance to really impress....Well....I didn't impress anybody much....I think about it now and then and wonder what would have happened if I had another opportunity....I wonder if 52 years later I could do better....Couldn't do any worse....Out of 33 pitches ONLY 3 were in or near the strike zone....Surely I could do better than that....LOL...

Your tryout was trying. Maybe so much that you got too nervous. A trial we've all gone through at some times in our lives.
