This poem, titled "When He Knew That It Was Over" is about a man who starts a relationship with a woman, everything goes smoothly until her BBF steps in, get involved, and brings an end to the blooming & sweet relationship.
WHEN HE KNEW THAT IT WAS OVER The relationship had started very happily Betsy had called Douglas very frequently Betsy and Douglas had gotten together Several times for very pleasant dinners It was looking as if they really enjoyed Being together with each other indeed Betsy and Douglas were together most of the time And because her BFF wanted Betsy all of the time The BFF thought there was not enough bonding With college and pro football season starting So the very sweet phone calls ended And a nice budding relationship ended And what was the love of his life Instead Cupid had to take a hike And Betsy's BFF ended up the winner And for Douglas, no more sweet dinners

You made it sound like this was a real couple. That the sign of good writing. I don't know what a BFF is or should be. But in this case it was probably a blind freakin fiend. ;-)

Daniel Farmer....Thank you very much for being able to relate to my posting....Thankfully I am in a relationship with a woman who I don't have to worry about her being swayed away by a BFF whose not getting enough attention..... :-)

Boy I can identify with that story, one good thing though, my dinners don't cost as much now, ha!
