The last line caught me by surprise. Left me wishing things could have worked out for you both. From beginning to ending in just one line leaves the reader wondering about the story in between.

At one time I was about to write a book about words that rhythm, Till I found a book by Bessie Redfield on Rhyming Dictionary. You should be careful of using the word I or using the same word in one verse twice. repletion stands out. So this is why I suggest a Rhyming dictionary

Unfortunately, her competition, who I later found was a pathological liar who had a way of getting her way....Who left a trail of broken relationships behind her....Of course by then it was too late....
That was a big letdown in the last line. I sense that something came between you. Parents can do that. On the other hand, I've had many a first date that turned out to be a total flop.
