After the passing of my mom several years ago and then the recent passing of the mother - in - law of one of my sisters, who reminded me of my own mother....My thoughts turned to our elderly parents who have passed away and the feelings of sadness that we can not hide....
PASSINGS When someone close to us Passes away to the other side It is very difficult for us To accept that they have died That they are no longer with us Feelings of sadness we can not hide After our period of mourning We look for ways to remember them Looking for ways in honoring The cherished memories of them In ways that are so very loving Creating ways to memorialize them

We mourn for the person we lost, and for the part of us we lost as well with that passing.

We can only memorialize those who have accomplished something that others should remember. At least within the family. But it's better to have laid that to rest before dying or maybe no one will know or remember what it was.
