My poem "The Quietness In The Middle Of The Night" is about waking up out of a good nights sleep not able to sleep anymore and looing out the window into the dark, quiet night, observing that it was pitched dark and very quiet.

THE QUIETNESS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT

I could not sleep any longer

It was the middle of the night

The quiet neighborhood was a harbinger

No one was stirring, it was a sleepers delight

No traffic was moving, no running motors

The back alley dim street light

Only dimly lit the sign for detours

The caution sign was flashing bright

With no moon shining it was much darker

Up in the night sky the sratrs were bright

Feeling comfort from it being quieter

Back in bed hoping for sleeping delight

Hoping to fall back to sleep quicker

First off, I rough drafted the poem, then because of my hectic work schedule I left it alone for like a 10 days, then when my mind was into re-working it frankly the last thing in my mind was wording and punctuation, in the frame of mind that I was in at the time it really didn't matter to me....Even though I knew that those who are writing purist's would comment on it....BUT....Then again....It wasn't something that I was striving for....Just wanted to throw it together...... :-)

We've all had those spells of sleeplessness. Your poem recounts in detail one such encounter.

Could use a review in regard to words and punctuation.
