My poem "Hearing The Vacation time Calling" is in my book of poetry "Lighthouse Rainbows".
HEARING THE VACATION TIME CALLING We work very hard every day Working many long hours To the point in many a way Start to get the wearies It's just about that time When you hear that inner voice Calling out that it's time To go somewhere of your choice And to just go off somewhere Forget the daily flack Prop your feet and get some air And just rest and relax Get your inner battery recharging Get rested and ready to return Back to the hustling workday grinding

Well done poetic piece on a much needed vacation. Sometimes we just need time to get acquainted with the surroundings of home and take time out to walk in the park and then read. Getting away can be tiring too and we just come back home anyway! Relax where you are. I feel another poem a coming! Thank you for sharing Steve!

Unlike many others, I took my vacation time and spend it on new experiences rather than staying at home in the usual routine. And, I didn't spend money booking expensive tours or locations, but traveled by my own car and visited places like national parks without a guide.

I always found getting away and doing different things very helpful for my sanity and health just like your poem portrays.
