While I have been known to drive miles just to see outdoor decorating at Christmas time, I find that some people go very far overboard when it comes to declaration.
I recall from my youth when people either did not have the money or didn't think that decorating was so important, when one could go from street to street and see beautiful snow lined avenues with sidewalks perfectly clean from hand shoveling and trees all beautifully covered with snow or ice in a kind of winter wonderland.
That's why I prefer a simpler approach than to see who can come up with a bigger light show.
